Talk about chutzpah
Can you believe it? I sure can’t. And I must admit I’m having serious trouble digesting this one.
Apparently, plans are currently underway to build a 14-story, Islamic cultural center and mosque just two, short blocks from Ground Zero.
Some people’s chutzpah know no bounds! Forget about words like ‘insensitive’ – that’s too weak a term for this unbelievable development. This absurd proposal is nothing short of unmitigated gall.
As a native New Yorker who sat riveted to the TV on 9-11, watching the heartbreaking tragedy and shocking destruction of the World Trade Center unfold with tears running down my face, all at the hands of wacko Muslim religious fanatics, this tactless proposal is just too much to swallow.
Muslim proponents say they are building the center to show the community “that we have peace in our hearts.”
Well, if they’re really sincere about that, why don’t they collectively put some pressure on the likes of Osama bin-Laden, al-Qaeda, Hamas, Hezbollah, the Taliban, and the other fanatical terrorist groups, to put a little ‘peace’ in their hearts. If that could happen – overnight, all the Muslim-rooted trouble spots around the globe would also find some peace.
But, until we see some real peace moves coming from the Muslim world, I sure don’t want to see a tribute to the 9-11 terrorists anywhere near Ground Zero.

Don’t forget, there were Muslims who were killed on 9-11 too. Oh, sorry, they were the ones on the planes.
Something similar is happening in Tennessee. It’s unsettling…what’s really the issue here??
Who cares if they build a Mosque near Ground Zero? It’s New York City – everything is right next to everything else. And why isn’t anybody outraged that nothing has been rebuilt on the WTC site? Seriously. The real tragedy is that there is still a big hole in the ground in lower Manhattan.
One of the hallmarks of this country is that our Constitution allow s things that are tactless and insensitive. Nazis march through Jewish areas in Illinois, for example. If Muslims are stupid enough to build this in the most Jewish city in the U.S., right next to a monument to the horrors of terrorism, we need to let them do it. The upside: no need to think about where to hold demonstrations from now on.
The real tragedy is that 9-11 happened at all. It easily could happen again.
If you read Geert Wilders letter about the happenings in the Muslim World, you will understand that the Muslims will be able to do anything they want to eventually, building a Mosque is only the beginning, also, the Muslims consider having health insurance as gambling and against their faith, therefore they are exempt from the obama health care bill, hmhmhm interesting
Don’t worry, muslims thiks differently. They just laghting. People who say : Who cares? this is a big big mistake. Try to build a church or sinsgogue in their country or even neibourhood. You will see a reaction. And you will see the same people who said this is not a big deal will say: Oh, they right, why disturb a muslims?
Double standard and some body pay for this. Some with oil money, but other with their lives
brian….health insurance and gambling? We don’t think that. Did you make that up? That’s the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever heard. And while we’re at it, building a mosque in NYC is the first step in world domination? Dude, you sound like a damn idiot. I’d like to get health care, as well as my entire family. We’re still waiting for Obama to actually do it. Let me know when does.
